An early start in Red Squirrel territory can often pay dividends with soft seasonal light conditions in which to work with a favourite mammal, and an early morning trip to a local population certainly did pay off this time around. I sat and waited as he walked up to me crouched on the ground, inspected inside my camera bag where my nut store was before progressing onto this lovely mossy stump, choosing to sit and eat only after a few trips to bury his findings. What a morning, and all over by 8.00 too!
